Community Energy Northern Ireland: A Briefing

Community Energy Northern Ireland (CENI) is a collaborative initiative founded in 2025 to champion community-led energy solutions across Northern Ireland. Rooted in cooperative principles, CENI supports the development of renewable energy projects that are democratically owned and locally controlled, aiming to foster environmental sustainability, economic inclusion, and social resilience.

Drumlin Wind Energy Co-operative is one of the founding coalition members of CENI, alongside Co-operative Alternatives, Fermanagh Trust and Northern Ireland Community Energy.
